Conservatory Players is a reading string ensemble intended for students ages 7 - 11. Students will learn basic ensemble skills, like following a conductor and playing together as well as strengthening their note reading ability! This ensemble will be featured in concert performances at the conclusion of both the fall and spring semesters. The program will run 32 weeks from September through May. In order to help us better prepare and plan for this experience, students will be accepted and placed into the ensemble via a video submission.
This class is intended for students age 7-11 (Beginning level string players on violin, viola, cello, bass - Suzuki Bk 1 - 3+ for violin; Suzuki Bk 1-2+ for Viola,Cello, Bass OR equivalent). Exceptions can be made based on teacher recommendation. Students who are within the suggested age range who are more advanced than the suggested playing level are absolutely encouraged to apply.
Our annual tuition, which includes 40 weeks of private instruction plus the opportunity to attend dozens of Conservatory events at no additional cost, doesn't cover the total cost of your musical education here. If you would like to help us cover the remaining 30 percent, please give what you can — or consider being a recurring donor to support our mission all year long!Donate now!
Did you know you don't need to be enrolled in private lessons at the Conservatory in order to take many of our group classes? IT'S TRUE! With the exception of just a couple of our more advanced classes... As long as you're studying your instrument somewhere — and pay the one-time registration fee — you're welcome.LEARN MORE
